The Objective Reality

We are a literary magazine aiming to create a platform that sustains stability in a world of ever-shifting realities.


Literature, while it bears the burden of incessantly witnessing the Human Condition, also enjoys the luxury of not finding it dismal. We believe that stories have the power to redefine reality as well as ground trust and rationality in their proper places as the essence of civilization.


It is, thus, with reverence towards the narrative craft that we have based this magazine primality in stories and in an effort to foster the art of storytelling.

SUBMIT YOUR WORK

“The Objective Reality” magazine is now accepting submissions. Any piece received will be considered for the issue to be published closest to its date of submission.

We publish everything literary, from fiction to criticism, from poetry to essays, from book reviews to movie analyses.

All submissions must be sent in a Microsoft Word document on the following email address: [email protected]

The writer is expected to add the word count as well as the Title of the work on top of the page. Up to 3 previously unpublished pieces may be accepted in a single email for the nearest issue.

Note: The editors reserve the right to make small, grammatical corrections to prose pieces but any further edits which might have the potential of changing the meaning of the piece will be sent to the author for approval before publication.

Genre Guidelines

  1. Poetry

    Poems submitted may be up to 32 lines in length. We encourage both classically styled poetry with rhythm and meter, as well as experimental poetry which might play with traditional boundaries of layout and form. There is no specific theme for any genre.

  2. Fiction

    Short stories, Flash-fiction and Micro-fiction up to 1200 words in limit shall be considered for fiction submissions. We are looking for riveting narratives which reflect the world/life as it is, or as it ought to be.

  3. Creative Nonfiction

    Anecdotes, Travelogues, Essays, Reflections, Memoirs, Biographies, Historical Fiction etc. up to 1200 words in length may be considered for submission under the CNF category. We celebrate the ordinary, the extraordinary, and everything in between. There is no specific theme for any genre.

  4. Literary Criticism

    There is nothing writers write more passionately about than writing itself. Meditations on writing, the history and current trends literature, criticism of famous works written/translated in English, reviews of Books/ Movies etc. up to 1200 words in length shall be considered under Literary Criticism. References are appreciated. There is no specific theme for any genre.

The author reserves the right to his/her intellectual property. Published pieces may be reproduced with citation to “The Objective Reality” magazine crediting it as the first publisher of the work.

By submitting his/her work to “The Objective Reality” the author is consenting to the above terms and conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I liable for submission fees as a contributor?
“The Objective Reality” does not charge its contributors any submission, reading, or editing fees. We try to make our product as accessible as we can.
Can I submit my piece to other magazines simultaneously?
Simultaneous submissions are allowed. We understand the anxiety writers face when it comes to response times. We only request you to withdraw your submission in the event that it is accepted elsewhere.
Is there any compensation for the contributors of the magazine?
Our goal is to do everything in our power to compensate our writers. At the moment, we will be providing a free PDF copy to each contributor from the corresponding issue.
